Posting this on behalf of HELP .... I will send the menus and poster to you all via email.  HELP is holding a dinner/dance to celebrate our 30th anniversary. This event is to be held on Friday October 15th. We are keeping this event at cost and Help will only raise money by means of the raffle on the night. We are also hoping that some businesses may like to donate a raffle prize. We are hoping that the new British consul and his wife will attend this event. Deposits of 10 euros per person are being taken now, with the balance to be paid in the first week of September, We need full names of each person, a contact phone number and their choice of main course. I have just been informed by a neighbour on Conjunto Fiesta Quesada that yesterday he found a number of bank cards, debit and credit in his back garden approximately seven cards in total, the cards were not concealed in any way and in a neat pile, they were issued in Moscow. The finder has returned them to the relevant bank,no further details at this stage. Unrelated we have had a number of instances during the late evening, of vehicles being tampered with in Calle Cervantes Quesada outside Conjunto Fiesta URB, as yet no serious damage has occurred, but it is becoming a regular occurrence.  Its always a good idea to bring your car onto the drive or garage for when you don't need it for the evening

The bogus waterboard men have arrived in El Raso (26/05) so be very careful of admitting anyone claiming to be an official, into your property. Described as two men, spanish looking and of smart appearance. One short and one tall. Report suspicious characters to the police.

From SEcretary Torrevieja: The 2 men that are masquerading as Water Board Officials are now operating in Lago Jardin with 3 properties visited to his knowledge over the past week. These men were around La Mata about a month ago for about 2 weeks before they moved on. The men say that they have to switch off the water as there is a problem in a neighbours house. The men enter the house and are taken to the stop tap but one man remains and takes anything that is easily hidden, cards, money etc. Once they have left the occupant later finds belongings missing, suspects have by then vanished. We now have a vague description, both men are well dressed in suits. One is tall and slim the other shorter and slim, both are believed to be Spanish with dark hair and have false ID. Vehicle is unknown.

Neighbour's on on Paul's urbanisation have approached him saying that several cars on San Vicente and one car on Avenida del Aeropuerto were Vandalised late Friday 23rd April-Early hours of Saturday 24th April. He does not know if the the damage was caused by youths in the park by vicente, or from drunks leaving bars on the way home. If you have a drive or garage then please use it overnight to protect your property from these incidents.

This afternoon there was a robbery done at La Mata. 3 men arrived at a house saying that they had to turn off the water at the property. The husband allowed them to enter and whilst 2 kept him talking the other stole a handbag containing bank cards and also stole jewellery including a gold watch amongst other property. A denuncia is being made this afternoon. Please be on your guard and do not let anyone into your property without checking with the appropraite service first.
